Who am I?

Fliss is a multi-faceted being.  The day job is 'computers', the evening job is writing.

In between that, she creates 1 minute videos 'Word Lifehack videos' to post on Twitter every weekday.  Her specialist subject are Word (excellent for a writer), Excel and SharePoint.

Those who follow her videos will know her voice slides in and out of croakiness so, own it!

Just 1 minute videos?

They aren't full training courses and they're 1 minuute +/-.  It's not an exact timing.  They're hacks, tips and tricks (and the ocassional 'gotcha' in MS Word that will help writers become more efficient.  'There's been an alarming increase in the number of things I didn't know I didn't know'.

Word - brilliant or appalling?

She'll scream when Microsoft annoy but Word is probably in their top 3 of great apps.

Cons?

  1. Microsoft, stop changing your applications like a demented demon on speed. It makes it tough to support and train, and a nightmare for people to use.
  2. So powerful that most people don't use 5% of it because they think they know it.

Currently unagented - waiting for that discerning agent to say "WOW, I love your book!"

She's had short stories published in various anthologies and used to regularly submit to Friday 100 Word Flash Fiction.  Only the Day-Job and Real Life have stopped her submitting.  Newbie writers, a great place to put your micro-stories so people start reading your work.
